HEY YOU GUYYYYS!

Well i'm getting back into the swing of things...

And I am really deciding whether I should start a new blog with a fresh start, or keep going. Well, anyways, I've been working a lot trying to learn the basics of Maya which has been way fun and challenging. Here's my lego guy for brent's class. I'm working on a still life for brent's 250 class so stay tuned.

hi..... this is awkward. but i won't see my computer for a long time cuz the warranty was almost up and it needs some fixin so i turned it in. *tear. I seriously want to paint in photoshop SOOO BAD, but i can't... Anyways, my friend Dominik is having an art show the friday of next week. And i'm putting a few pieces in it. Anyone thats down here should come, it'll be really fun. I've never really learned how to paint i just kinda try the best i can.. i want to take a painting class very badly. so badly. by the way, i loved harry potter 6 (midnight showing, oh yeah) and i've been listening to quantic recently and they are super good check em out. and last of all, i'm leaving on my mission not next wednesday, but the wednesday after (so stoked)

New Header thinger

Hello! so i've become completely bored with the old header for the blog.. and i decided to try some new ideas. between the two flame ones, it was kinda hard to choose between, the narwal thing or the screamy dude.. ended up choosing the narwal thingy obviously. haha by the way, do you know where the name visiontape came from? in 8th grade, when i would ride my bike to school, i would always see graffiti from two taggers named BEACON and K.A.S. (kill all spots).. very often i would see that they had tagged the night before as i rode to school. i decided that if i was a tagger, my tagger name would be visiontape.

As i said, i'm playing around with flash.. its pretty fun. even though its a really rough animation, i colored it because I CAN.. this is the first time i've animated something in color! So. I decided to do a 30 day trial for Adobe Flash. So i did the typical ballbounce for a first attempt. Curse ball bounces.. I'm pretty sure i'm not going to be using tweens and all the fancy stuff, i'll probably just do frame by frame drawings. this is the extent of my fancy flash technical skillz.. But more animations to come.

In my sketch book, I keep drawing monsters with these weird masks... This was originally meant to practice the Hero vs. Fat Mythical Beast entry on http://ynotartblog.blogspot.com/ but instead i just kept going with it until it pretty much evolved into a teenage mutant ninja turtle, probably donatello (when he's like 80 years old).

This is what i am doing at 1:38 AM during finals week.....sigh

Um. I just turned in my animation portfolio.. super sketchy. I will be so stoked if I get in. I've been really stressed about it. Oh and on top of that, my mission call was supposed to come today, it didn't. Of course.. hopefully it'll come tomorrow, so another day of anxiety coming right up. Oh, and happy april fools.

This was a scene from my dream. i still have to work on it.

The guy on the right was also in a dream i had. In my dream, there were two of them and they were murdering a bunch of people in Mexico City and i was the detective. Its a long story, perhaps i'll tell ya about it someday.

So i started drawing with markers for the second time... i should use them more because being familiar with them wouldn't hurt! And they're fun.

Happy holidays people. This break i haven't been making much art. I'm working on 2 films though! Christmas was good! i got photoshop and illustrator (i'm SOOOO excited), but my computer is corrupted or something so it won't install.. But when we figure it out, i'll be putting a lot of my stuff onto the blog that i do on the computer. I'm finally back home so i've been surfing everyday. Good stuff.

i'm in love! i'm in love and i don't care who knows it!! i fell in love drawing with a pen tabet in photoshop. i spent around 4 hours straight to paint this last night because i was having so much fun. ariel was nice enough to let me use her tablet. tanks arieeeel! i think there are going to be more of these on the way.. oh disclaimer- i drew this but i was using one of jon foster's paintings as a reference. usually i never do this but i thought that i would learn how to use the colors and stuff if i did.. but never again! i liked making the background out of focus, but it still bothers me... YOU TOO LAMP THINGY!

i like ghetto blasters.

so i had to make a piece of art for a class to put in a "vending machine show"... cool, no? basically we had to make a piece of art that is under a certain size limit so it could fit in this special vending machine. so special. people had some way cool stuff they submitted. i carved a ghetto blaster into a lino block to make lino prints with. i just submitted one of the prints i made. the show was pretty fun. lots of people, its was chilll. art in a vending machine from 2 to 20 bucks. all proceeds go to provo food coalition.
